- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Queen Mary Aground Off Cherbourg. DESCRIPTION: A sudden squall caused the liner to go aground on Les Salinas sandbank. Tugs pulled her off and back at Southampton cement is poured into the hull to fill the gap caused by the grounding. SHOTLIST: KS LS RMS Queen Mary aground with few people on shore looking at her. LS, MS several shots of QM aground. Tugs trying to get her off. Aerial QM at sea, under way (good shot). QM at Southampton. Divers alongside descend into water. Cement mixer being swung aboard ship. Bags of cement going up automatic conveyor to ship. Cut-in diver descending. Finish on shot of QM tied up, ropes in fore.
