Summary
The manufacture in the factory of thicker armour, for use in the war against Japan. Field trials between a Churchill Mark 7 tank, a Churchill Mark 4, Sherman, Crusader, Comet, Challenger and Cromwell over a very hard course. Tanks are seen on the job in Burma, moving up to Rangoon. Australian airmen photographed in action; a low level bombing attack. An advance Gurkha patrol march towards Pegu. They unearth a bomb buried by the Japanese. British troops share cigarettes, fruit and bread with the Burmese. US NATIONAL ARCHIVE ENTRY: 13 min, sd, B&W, 35mm Reel 1 Part 2 Tanks are manufactured and tested in London. Reel 1 Part 3 Gurkha troops advance near Pegu, Burma, protected by strafing Australian planes. Burmese civilians are fed. Record Group 208 Accession 3276
