MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Royal Tournament. DESCRIPTION: At Olympia, London, The Royal Tournament opens again with the displays of gymnastics by Combined Services team and the RAF Transport Command dropping nurses by parachute from the ceiling. SHOTLIST: KS. GV arena & audience surrounding same. Ditto. Royal Engineers erect Bailey Bridge, several shots. Lorries pass over finished bridges. Various shots of gymnastics. Cut-in audience watching. Navy demonstrate in field gun competition. Royal Marines marching. Cut-in audience (child gets excited). Marines with rifles lunge in opposite directions. Several shots parachutes descending from roof with troops & nurses attached to same. One covers soldier completely. Cut-in Chelsea Pensioners watching.
