Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Ascot - Hunt Cup & Gold Cup. DESCRIPTION: Ascot on the second day saw Sterope win from Impeccable after a photo finish in the Royal Hunt Cup and Alycidon beat Black Tarquin in the Gold Cup. The Royal Family were there and the King walked down to the paddock to view the runners before the start of the Gold Cup. SHOTLIST: KS. GV enclosure with tote board in background. Trucking shot of crowds. Royal Family walk through crowds. Various fashions. SCU Rita Hayworth smoking. Jockey board. MS Royal Box. LS Royal Hunt Cup, coming into camera, swinging & finish. Cut-in Royal Box, Princess Elizabeth disappointed also King smoking. CU photo finish - "Sterope" wins. Winner led in & Beasley (jockey) dismounts. Gold Cup - GV of crowds. Royal procession along course. Royal Box - King showing (King has cigarette in mouth) Dukes of Gloucester & Edinburgh Gold Cup Jockey-board. King & Queen walk towards paddock. GV grandstand. CU Gordon Richards on ‘Vic Day’. GV start of race. Elevated GV into camera panning & swinging shots. Elevated GV as they turn into the straight. Cut-in crowds. MS finish shows "Alycidon" winning from "Black Tarquin". Winner led in. Jockey dismounts. Royal Family walk through enclosure to finish.
