Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Comet - Britain Jet Air Liner. DESCRIPTION: At the De Havilland factory we see the first four-engined jet air-liner being put through its paces by Catseyes Cunningham, he chats with Sir Frank Whittle the inventor of the jet engine. SHOTLIST: KS. GV "Comet". GV ditto. CU jet engines. MS Comet air liner. MS Comet air liner with small DH108 jet fighter beside same - as comparison. CU Cunningham & Wilson. MS of both with Whittle. Comet taxies across aerodrome & just lifts off ground. Jet engine running, mechanics stands by with protections over their ears. Comet taxies & take off. Flying into & out of camera.
