- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Breaking Up of Tirpitz. DESCRIPTION: The German battleship Tirpitz is being broken up in the Norwegian fjord where she has laid since 1944 when the RAF block-busted her. A Norwegian company has taken on the job which is estimated to take three years. SHOTLIST: KS Tirpitz lying on her side. Various shots of Tirpitz lying in Tromso Fford. Shots of workmen using welding apparatus to dismantle vessel. Removal of ammunition covered in grease. Further shots of Tirpitz and general activity on board in preparation for breaking up.
