Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Farewell to a Great Canadian. DESCRIPTION: Final tributes to the late Mr Mackenzie King were paid by thousands of mourners in Ottawa including Mr St Laurent, the Prime Minister, and the Governor General and Lady Alexander. SHOTLIST: KS. GV Parliament Buildings with queues of people in foreground. Thousands filing into building. Interior - queues passing coffin. Mr St Laurent stands for a moment by coffin. Lord & Lady Alexander by coffin. GV St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Coffin with guard passing through streets lined with troops & servicemen. Crowds line streets as cortege passes. Cabinet & government ministers in procession. At railway station coffin carried & placed on train. Ministers & notabilities watch train as it pulls out of camera, to finish.
