Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Ship Crash Rescues. DESCRIPTION: Collision during a fog in San Francisco Bay between the freighter Mary Luckenbach and the hospital ship Benevolence resulted in the tragic loss of eighteen lives (with others reported missing). SHOTLIST: GV & MS SS "Mary Luckenbach" showing damage. GV stanchions of Golden Gate Bridge visible in fog (x2). GV helicopter in flight. Night: survivors from "Benevolence" being helped ashore, 2 shots bodies on stretchers. MS survivors pan.
