Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Avalanche Disaster. DESCRIPTION: From the Continent there comes the most tragic story of avalanche disaster for over a hundred years. In Austria, Switzerland and Italy one incident after another has resulted in the cutting of communications, destruction of property and heavy loss of life. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. GV few rescuers across snow, mountains in background. GV mountains. GV & CU rescuers digging. Elevated GV men on houses digging off snow. GV nearly whole village with men digging off snow from roofs. SCU men digging away snow. GV snow falling from mountains on rescuers. Various shots of men digging, also CU digging. MS body dug out. Men dig out car. Rescuers take up body & place on stretcher, dog runs around. Rescuers carry body away, snowing hard.
