MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Australian Premier Christens Bomber. DESCRIPTION: The Australian Premier, Mr Menzies, went to Biggin Hill, Kent, to christen the RAF’s new jet bomber, later, the Canberra was brought out for a demonstration flight. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Menzies walks across aerodrome. Menzies inspects Guard of Honour. Inside hangar, Menzies on platform addresses those present. He refers to his bad throat, & the accuracy required in hitting the bomber with bottle of champagne, etc., etc. SCU & CU Menzies speaking. Menzies christens Canberra bomber. MS bottle crashing on fuselage. Canberra being wheeled out of hangar. Menzies looks up into sky. Canberra flies over camera, at speed & turning etc.
