Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Winter Sports. DESCRIPTION: There was a touch of Montmartre at the recent ice show in Vancouver - the Apache dance on skates. Then there was an ice-ballet. At New York, an ice championship for the very young. At Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a ski-jumping contest over the Olympic run won by ex-world champion Sepp Bradl of Austria. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Ice skaters race round. . Vancouver - Several shots Apache dancers performing. Girl spinning round on stomach on ice. GV & MS dozens of girls ballet dancing. New York - Very young children skate in the Silver Skates contest (up to seven years). Winner flashes past post. Young girls in contest, one falls over, others race on, rounding bends & finish. Garmisch - Crowds gathered in falling snow on side of run. Several shots skiers, competing, one falls on landing. SCU No 25 (winner) about to start, shots of him down run & jumping & landing safely (Sepp Bradl).
