Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Princess Margaret Visits Doncaster (Some Natural Sound). DESCRIPTION: Princess Margaret, accompanied by Lady Mountbatten, visited a camp for boys and girls of the St John Ambulance Brigade. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Princess Margaret inspects cadets in Land Rover. Arrival at Firbeck Camp, received by Duke of Portland, & Countess Mountbatten. Walking round camp watching girl & boy cadets at work in various handicrafts. Girl cadets diving into pool fully clothed, bring out drowning persons & carrying them along side. Princess Margaret at Racecourse, walks towards camera. Mounts a Land Rover, & various shots of her inspecting thousands of cadets. SCU of her smiling during inspection as she stands in Land Rover. Princess Margaret presents girl with Grand Prior Badge & certificate. Various shots of marchpast Princess on dais takes salute. Over shots of marchpast is voice of Princess Margaret congratulating them on a grand performance. Finish on shot of St John’s Pipe Band walking into camera. Princess Margaret is dressed in uniform of Commandant-in-Chief of the St John’s Ambulance Brigade.
