- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The West Greets Royal Couple. DESCRIPTION: When Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip reached Calgary in Alberta, there were twenty degrees of frost and it was snowing; their warm welcome, however, notably from Red Indian tribes, must have made up for the cold weather. Later, having driven to the Exhibition Grounds in a stage coach, they saw a Rodeo. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Royal train drives into open station. Duke & Princess alight, snowing slightly. Greeted by Mayor. Indians & squaws dancing. CU Indian. Squaw hands couple a present of Indian shirt for Prince Charles. Duke receives a belt. MS Royal couple in Stage Coach drive on to Exhibition Grounds. Couple alight onto a mat, snowing hard. Rodeo in progress. Couple seated with electric blanket round them. Duke wears a ten-gallon hat. Chuck-waggon race in progress, various shots, still snowing hard. Couple receiving presents for Prince Charles & Princess Anne from children.
