- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Helicopters Fly Atlantic. DESCRIPTION: The first helicopters ever to fly the Atlantic were the Hopalong and the Whirlaway - American Sikorsky S-55 machines. The route taken was from Maine via Labrador, Greenland and Iceland, they’re going on to Germany. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Aerial of the Hebrides. Ditto with helicopters (two) flying over same. Prestwick airport, helicopters come in & land. Crews greeted by yanks. CU extra petrol tanks. Crews wear waterproof suits. Shots of the helicopters.
