MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: F/M Slim Opens Burma Club. DESCRIPTION: In London, Field Marshal Sir William Slim opened the Burma Club, which has been founded by the Burma Star Association. Accompanied by the Chairman, Frank Owen, he was presented the badge of the Burma Star by General Hawthorn. SHOTLIST: Cut story - KS. Slim walks along road towards Club. Shakes hands with Frank Owen and others. Interior - Slim addresses gathering. General Hawthorn presents car (Burma) badge to Slim. Vera Lynn sings We’ll Meet Again and all join in.
