MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Canal Zone - Soviet Pilots Arrive. DESCRIPTION: After the seizure of the Canal by Egypt, the departure of many experienced Suez pilots was, almost immediately followed by the arrival of a number of Russians. These were the first to be recruited from the Soviet Union. SHOTLIST: MLS of ship up Canal. MCU ship up Canal - Statue of Liberty. Russian pilots out of bus and go into building. Men on balcony clapping. CU sign - ‘Trauaux - 1- Section’. Shots of Colonel Mahmud Younis. Naval officers walking and then get onto boat. LS two boats in the Canal. Various shots of men looking out towards the boat in the harbour. Shots of ‘British Major’ along Canal.
