MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Dar-Es-Salaam’s Welcome. DESCRIPTION: From Zanzibar, Britannia took Princess Margaret to her next port of call, Dar-es-Salaam. The Governor, Sir Edward Twining was there to receive Her Royal Highness. Highlight of the Dar-es-Salaam visit was to the Baraza (or tribal gathering). SHOTLIST: ‘Britannia’ steams into Dar-es-Salaam. The Governor Sir Edward Twining received Princess Margaret. Inspection of guard of honour by King’s African Rifles. Three little girls present bouquet. European, African and Asian. The ‘Baraza’ tribal gathering. Various shots of natives, weird musical instruments, stilt dancers. Princess Margaret goes on field to see dancers. Crowds pushing and trying to get a closer look at Princess Margaret.
