Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Mr Macmillan Leaves. DESCRIPTION: Prime Minister Macmillan left London Airport on his way to Bermuda, where he will shortly meet President Eisenhower. SHOTLIST: Harold Macmillan alights from car at London Airport (Heathrow). Interior - Press Conference. CU Macmillan speaking - I’ve known General Eisenhower, as I called him then, President Eisenhower since the days of the war, when I worked at his head quarters as British resident minister. We had a lot of very tough problems to deal with then, and we remained great friends, and one of the great advantages of friendship is that you can talk frankly to your friends. And this is one of the occasions when its much better that the British should be quite frank about what they feel, and the Americans I’m sure will be quite frank about what they feel too. Exterior - shakes hands with government ministers. Boards plane with the Foreign Minister, Selwyn Lloyd. Plane taxiing.
