MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Strike. DESCRIPTION: Ships deserted and silent. Not only at Clydeside, but on Tyneside, Sunderland, Southampton, Barrow, Belfast and the rest. At Liverpool, as at other important strike centres, shipyard workers gathered to attend mass meetings to hear the latest. Mr Hill, General Secretary of the Boilermakers Society, told them the struggle may be long and bitter. SHOTLIST: GV deserted cranes. Idle ships in docks. Cranes standing still. CU crane. Base of dock with water lapping. GV empty yard. Men arriving for strike meeting. GV meeting. Closer shot same. CU Mr Hill speaking. Strikers applauding.
