MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Cypriots Rejoice. DESCRIPTION: Greek Cypriot reaction to the news that Archbishop Makarios was to be released was instantaneous and uproarious. In Nicosia, big processions, displaying Greek flags marched through the main streets. British troops were on the spot to prevent the jubilation developing into a riot. SHOTLIST: Various shots of crowds walking along the road waving flags and leaflets etc. Various shots of a procession through streets carrying Greek flags. Poster of Makarios.
