MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: The Queen Arrives in Canada. DESCRIPTION: Highlights of Her Majesty’s historic visit to her people in Canada. SHOTLIST: GV plane landing. Shots of crowds at airport. Royal couple leave plane. Greeted by dignitaries, royal salute by Guard of Honour and band. The Queen inspects the Guard, and returns to dais. The Queen and Prince Philip enter and drive off. Various cut-ins etc. THE QUEEN IN CANADA - CARD 71896 (71934) CU Mounties. Inside Banquet Hall. Elevated shot of Banquet Hall, and guests. The Queen enters and chats with guests. SCU the Queen. GV of Parliament buildings. MS the Queen & Prince Philip leaving Government House. GS horse-drawn landau going along streets, escorted by the ‘Mounties’. Cut-ins of crowds cheering and waving. LS landau. MS the Queen & Prince Philip pause at the entrance to Parliament buildings. Then they are greeted by Mr John Diefenbaker & the Hon. John T Haig. MS the Queen and her procession enter the Senate Chamber, along aisles lined with members of the Senate. The Queen ascends throne & seats herself.
