- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Edinburgh Festival. DESCRIPTION: Maintaining tradition, the 14th International Festival of Music and Drama opened with a Service of Praise at St Giles. Lord Provost Dunbar read the lesson. The City was packed, and the Earl and Countess of Harewood were there. Meanwhile, queues for the first concert at the Usher Hall had already formed.
