Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Russian Horses Arrive. DESCRIPTION: Harwich was almost the end of a long and (you’d have thought) rather tiring journey for the Russian horses Reljef, Grifel and Epigraff. But, when they were put ashore, it soon became apparent that they were in good shape. They’re heavily handicapped as newcomers to the country, whether they’ll be able to cope with the formidable Aintree fences, and the speed of the Grand National, remains to be seen. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV Harwich Docks. LS crane lowering horse box. MLS same. GV Reljef in box, crowd around him. MLS Reljef being led away. GV Grifel. Same. MLS Epigraff same. LS to CU horse walks past. GV others follow. GV horses led into stable. GV same.
