DESCRIPTION: Penshurst Place in Kent is the stately home of Australia’s newly appointed Governor General, Viscount de L’Isle VC, seen here with his wife and family. Lady de L’Isle is daughter of the late Field Marshal Lord Gort VC. Lord de L’Isle won his VC at Anzio in 1944, while serving with the Grenadier Guards. He has been a Secretary of State for Air.
