Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Kuwait - Border Build Up Build Up Story. DESCRIPTION: Kuwait, capital of the small Arab State, is the latest flash-point in the Middle East. The Seif Palace is the residence of the ruler of the country, Sheikh Sir Abdullah as-Salim as-Sabah. He is now forced by the threat from Iraq to call for British help. British troops have been digging in, and Air Marshal Sir Charles Elworthy (C-in-C Middle East), and Brigadier Horsford are supervising the build-up. RAF Hunters were early on the scene, equipped for ground-attack, if Iraqis cross the border. As the build-up neared completion, the accent was on supply. A task, in which RAF transport aircraft are continuously engaged. We can only hope for the possibility of a speedy withdrawal of British troops.
