MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Space Race Hots Up. DESCRIPTION: The orbiting major Nikolayev and his partner Colonel Popovich have gone on creating record after record. Apparently, their mission is to test the reactions of the human body to weightlessness over a prolonged period of several days. Here, Major Nikolayev is seen concentrating hard on threading a needle, while in Moscow, pictures of the space-men were in tremendous demand as they continued logging day after day in space.
