- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Berlin Wall - One Year Old. DESCRIPTION: With blatant disregard for the uncommitted nations in the cold war, the Communists have timed their fabulous demonstration of leadership in space with the first anniversary of the Berlin Wall, stretching for 26 miles right across the city. For a year, the unending war of nerves has gone on. More than 12,000 people have defied the East German guards in their bid for freedom, in spite of the Wall.
