Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: No Lethargy in Lakeland. DESCRIPTION: The weather was so bad that Lakeland’s big sporting event at Grasmere was very nearly cancelled altogether. But in spite of rain and mud, the muscle men of Lakeland carried on. The Guides’ Race, an annual event, was won by Reg Harrison. In the final of the 12-stone wrestling event, J Bland of Silverdale met F Jones of Brampton. Bland won the match, with two throws out of 3. Finally, the Hound Trail, a very popular item.
