- Summary
- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Signs of Danger. DESCRIPTION: Multiple crashes on the M1 underline the urgent need for a danger warning system, one of which was recently demonstrated at Brands Hatch. When arriving at an accident, the driver first rushes to the telephone, located at each hazard warning station. He informs motorway control and they immediately switch on the giant warning signals of danger ahead, positioned every half mile. In addition motorway patrols would give warning of ice and fog. This system has been designed for motorways although something similar could well be devised for all our major trunk roads. SHOTLIST: Key scene. The M1 (3 shots). MS car with smashed in front. MS man runs to damaged car. CU box with picture of telephone. Man runs to phone box and phones (2 shots), another man answers call (2 shots). CU man turns switch. MS ‘A’ is shown on sign post (meaning accident). Interior shot man driving along. MS signpost, showing ‘A’ and ‘F’ ('F’ for fog). MS car along motorway. CU ‘F’ on signpost. GV traffic along in fog.
