Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Motor Racing - the Winners - and Losers. DESCRIPTION: First of all - a Le Mans-type start at the Nurburgring for over eighty cars in the thousand kilometres race - 625 miles. Mike Parkes was the only Briton to get a place, in fact he was second. The Ferraris took the 1st, (driven by Scarfiotti and Vaccarella) 2nd and 4th place. Now over to Indianapolis, for the Five Hundred, one of the fastest and certainly most dangerous events in motor racing. This year, danger with a big D: seven cars in that terrible second lap pile-up, in which two leading American drivers were burned to death. 33 cars started - 12 finished. SHOTLIST: Key scene. GV start of 1000 kilometre race at Nurburgring. MS cars round bend. MS pan Ferraris No 144 with drivers Ludovico Scarfiotti and Nino Vaccarella (Italy). TS winner AJ Foyt (USA) congratulated. MS AJ Foyt. The last race is a 16 mm blow up.
