- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: In Spite of the Strike. DESCRIPTION: The only ship being worked on Merseyside during the May Day Strike was a German cargo vessel being loaded with supplies for Biafra. A Liverpool arrival was the tanker Hamilton Trader, damaged after a collision with a German freighter. Hundreds of tons of oil threatened holiday beaches in North Wales, Cheshire and Lancashire. SHOTLIST: MS docker guides load as it lifts from quayside. LAS good for Biafra loaded on ship. CU crate. MCU man loading carton on ship.
