- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: SS Great Britain. DESCRIPTION: Launched at Bristol in 1843, Brunel’s magnificent steamship the Great Britain is now nearing her home port. The great vessel had been beached in the Falkland Islands for 33 years. Now a £150,000 salvage operation has ensured her preservation in England.
