Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Henry Cooper With Navy. DESCRIPTION: Ex-boxing champion, Henry Cooper, watches two Royal Navy teams give a demonstration of competitive gun drill in preparation for their appearance shortly in the Royal Tournament. SHOTLIST: MS Henry Cooper arrives at Lee-on-Solent and is greeted by Captain DG Titford of station. LS towards and pan gun crew in training. MCU Cooper watching and zipping up track suit. MLS Cooper about to try swinging on rope. MCU ditto, he jumps from platform. MS pan as he swings to far platform and back. LS group picture gun crews. LS pan 2 crews giving demonstration, zoom in to Fleet Air Arm crew as they go over wall. Pull back to show 2 crews (Air Arm nearest camera) setting up trestles, zoom in to Air Arm crew as they swing gun muzzle across gap, pull back as they dismantle trestle. CU pull back, pan as crew swing across with gun wheels. MS pan as they take gun barrel across, pull back as they reach for side. MS officers and crews watching. MS pan Air Arm crew taking gun through gap in wall. GV 2 crews racing round course. MS Air Arm crew re-assembling gun. GV zoom in to Air Arm crew as they race back down course. LS pan 2 crews taking wheels across gap. LS zoom in to navy team as they take gun carriage across. MS pan crew takes barrel across. CU Cooper and officer watching. GV zoom in as the two crews race towards finish and reassemble guns. MS Fleet Air Arm crew ready to fire. LS sailors watching. GV pan two crews race down to far end of course with guns.
