- COI synopsis: All over Britain enthusiastic spies are about reporting on all forms of wild life. This activity is part of the work being undertaken to compile a detailed nature map of the country to help scientists and conservationists protect species - whether birds, butterflies or plants - from extinction. Michele Brown visits the research centre at Monks Wood in Huntingdonshire and discusses the preparation of the twentieth century Doomsday Book.
