- COI synopsis: It isn’t always easy for women to break into a man’s world. But in 1975 Britain passed the Sex Discrimination Act and turned upside down a lot of the old attitudes about the role of women at work. Diana MacLean meets some of the women who are muscling in on traditional male preserves, from lady dockers to apprentice steel welders.
