Summary - the Hon. Neville Lytton in his studio

Window in centre through which we see a panning shot across Trafalgar Square to the National Gallery.
'In the studio of the Hon. Neville Lytton. Several of his pictures have been purchased by the British and French Governments -' In the background are cartoons of easels and paints on the left and a bust on a pillar on the right. Close up of Lytton wearing a peasant smock and a neckerchief. He mixes paints on a palette in his hand. ' At work on his latest picture, a portrait of Lubor Tehernitehova the famous dancer -' There is an enormous painting in the background of the studio. It depicts a dancer in 18th century costume. Lytton adds detail to it. Close up as the artist paints detail on the sleeve of the dancer. Lytton walks out of an outer doorway wearing a suit and hat. Close up as he lights a pipe.
Researcher Comments
NoS - Neville Lytton (1879-1951) was the son of the first Earl of Lytton and grandson of the famous novelist, Edward Bulwer-Lytton. He was born in India but educated at Eton College and at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Paris. His war subjects are exhibited at both the Imperial War Museum, London, and the Musee de Guerre in France. His frescoes on similar subjects can be seen at the War Memorial Hall in Balcombe, Sussex. He also worked extensively in both landscape and portrait painting. Neville Lytton became third Earl of Lytton in 1947.
