NoS synopsis: ‘A few moments with Alice Brady. The well-known American Stage and Screen Actress, appearing shortly on the English Stage.' In the background there is a cartoon of a woman standing in the wings of a stage. Mid shot of a chair by a large window. Alice Brady wearing a hat and pearls, places a vase of flowers on the window sill and looks out. She smiles to the camera then exits. Brady still wearing her hat, is seated at a bureau. She smiles and talks to someone off-camera. Close up as she signs a letter. - Researcher Comments
- NoS - Alice Brady (2/11/1892 - 28/10/1939) was an American actress. She broke onto the movie scene at the age of 22 with World Studios, since her father, William A. Brady, the former boxing-promoter, was its owner. She acted in more than 50 films during her career, but spent most of the 1920s away from the screen, appearing on stage instead. She won an Academy Award for her portrayal of Molly O’Leary in In Old Chicago in 1938. She died of cancer in 1939 shortly after filming Young Mr. Lincoln with director John Ford.
