- Summary
- NoS Summary - Exhibition dance by the Premiere Ballerina Vera Savina.
British Pathe synopsis: "by Vera Savina - Premiere Danseuse of Serge Diaghileff’s Russian Ballet." C/U of Vera in ballet tutu and tiara-like headdress. The camera moves backwards as she dances towards the camera. "Come, and trip it as you go, On the light fantastic toe." Vera dances on points. C/U of her legs as she dances. The top part of her ballet outfit is rather strange. It accentuates her breasts and almost looks like a ribcage is painted on. "From tip to toe the movements personify the grace and poetry of the ballet dance." C/U of Vera’s legs. Various shots of her dainty dancing. "Each step a finished movement, each turn of the pirouette distinct and separate. (In slow motion)." Slow motion footage of Vera’s dance. "Now the camera allows Miss Savina to see herself as others see her." Excellent camera trick using optical printing - Vera holds out her hand and a miniature version of herself dances upon it! This was probably filmed in the Pathe Studio. - Keywords
