Summary
NoS Summary - Secrets of three magic tricks are revealed by Professor John Warren.
British Pathe synopsis: "Sympathising with harassed fathers, Prof. Warren demonstrates a few tricks to show the youngsters. This coin "change" for instance..." C/U of Professor Warren’s hand - he hold a coin between his thumb and middle finger. Through sleight of hand he changes it into a larger coin. "...is so easy." C/U of his hands showing how he swaps the large coin with the small coin. "And the next always scores a bull’s-eye with the youngsters..." A trick is demonstrated which involves setting light to a handkerchief. It begins to burn then magically turns back into a complete handkerchief. "...but, from behind." We see how the trick is done - a handkerchief is secreted in the matchbox. When the matchbox is closed after a match is taken out, this releases the hidden handkerchief. "Then the burnt handkerchief trick is absurdly simple - when you know how!" Another trick is demonstrated. Professor Warren sets light to another handkerchief, burning a section of it. The handkerchief is opened out - not a mark on it! Again, Professor Warren reveals the secret of the trick. A small part of handkerchief is hidden in the hand and it is this that is burnt. We only see the Professor’s hands and body - no shots of his face.
