Summary
NoS Summary - Flying and fueling the Vickers Viscount Aircraft
BP synopsis: The new Turbo-propeller aircraft the Vickers ‘Viscount’ recently made a series of demonstration flights in Europe. This item describes the new aircraft, and her fuelling with BP Aviation Turbine Fuel in Paris. Starts off with the De Havilland Vampire jet, but for civil aviation it takes up too much fuel, so to compete, there is the turbo prop. We see the Vickers Viscount which used jet turbines and propellers. These are smaller than piston engines and more powerful. The Viscount flies on BP Aviation Turbine fuel. We see the whole refuelling process and then it flies home.
