Summary
The March of Time synopsis: The new issue of The March of Time contains a novel episode entitled "Highway Homes", depicting the rapidly increasing trend of American citizens to make automobile trailers their permanent abodes. The March of Time traces the growth of automobile trailers from the creation of the first trailer, until to-day, when 300 companies, working day and night, are unable to cope with the unprecedented demands of would-be purchasers. This episode reveals the high upkeep of houses as being the main stimulant to the industry - allied to the material facilities offered by 15,000 trailer camps, where families may stay for 1/3d a day, using municipal light and water. In a personal interview, the famed economist, Roger Babson, predicts that, gauged by its present rapid growth, twenty years will suffice to see half the American population living in automobile trailers.
