- Flight Lieutenant James Lacey DFM and Bar receives the first Australian-made parachute, accompanying the gift is a silk scarf made and autographed by the girls in the Sydney Parachute factory. Lacey is the pilot who destroyed the Heinkel which attacked Buckingham Palace, and has already had to bale out seven times.
