At the 53rd National AA Championships at Franklin Field, Philadelphia, the final of the 100 metre dash is won by Barney Yule just equalling the record. The 3,000 metre water jump is next on the list, followed by pole jumping, the 110 metres hurdles is won by Fred Walter to equal the world record.
