- Description
- This episode takes us through our most recent history, from our enthusiastic participation in the creation of a modern British Welfare State and the economic boom of the 40s and 50s; through the rise of Nationalism and language-based politics in the 60s and 70s; to the Miners’ Strike and our embracing of Thatcherism (if not of the woman herself); and so to 1997 and the present moment of assertion and confidence in the national story, despite the chill economic winds.
This New Wales has built the Senedd, the Millennium Stadium and more. And we’ve stopped asking worried questions about our identity. We’re a nation of invention, creativity, argument and wide-ranging connections. Are we ready just to get on with it? - Genre
