Shakespeare’s Dilemma
- Synopsis
- Independent short. A parody on office politics. Set in a time when the economy is struggling, the film focuses on a technology department that must prove that they are a valuable resource to the company. The office manager is Will Shakespeare who, with Lady Macbeth, must put together a PowerPoint presentation to justify his department’s existence to auditor Othello - otherwise they will be shut down and disbanded. Everybody is under the intense pressures of deadlines. When Shakespeare’s constant demands becomes too much for Lady Macbeth she applies for the post of administrative assistant in the office of rival Othello. She gets the job and Will Shakespeare has to cope alone. At the end of the film the audience learns that the film that it has just seen is from a screenplay by Bill Spears, an executive whose mental breakdown has rendered him homeless and mad.
