Ye Olde Agent
- Synopsis
- Independent comedy short. "On the 30th May 1593, the same day he eventually meets his fate, Christopher Marlowe uses his good friend Sir Walter Raleigh as a reference to procure a meeting with Shakespeare’s sleazy agent, Mark Orfice, at his agency Talented Writers In Theater, (T.W.I.T). Although incompetent and clueless the Agent interviews Marlowe and makes him read from his latest parchment the ‘King’s Fear’. Marlowe is impressed by the head shots (drawings) of the actors that the Agent represents; Barely Maninuff (Barry Manilow) Chuck Gunnery (Sean Connery) Nigel Blackbum (Michael Jackson)and Tony Scotchkins (Anthony Hopkins) amongst others. Marlowe leaves his parchments with the agent and exits to meet with his soon-to-be murderers in Deptford. The agent instantly rings William Shakespeare on the string and goblet phone and pitches Marlowe’s parchment, now calling it the ‘King’s Lair’ as if it were his own idea. And hence the rumor is started... " [IMDd plot summary supplied by director].
