Synopsis
Radio broadcast. As part of a series of 26 weekly programmes "designed as an anthology of the best-known and best-loved speeches and scenes" from Shakespeare’s better known plays, two 30-minute episodes (21 and 22) were transmitted to showcase ‘the best of’ Twelfth Night. With Jane Wenham as Viola, Diana Olsson as Olivia, and Carleton Hobbs as Malvolio.

General
According to the programme notes in London Calling, more than half of the programmes were produced specially for the General Overseas Service, while the rest is taken from ‘classic’ BBC productions of the previous 20 years (April 1964, 3: 13, p. 4).
History
The series was transmitted as part of the ‘Shakespeare Quatercentenary’ celebrations of the General Overseas Service. Broadcast in two 30-minute parts. Part 1: 17/7/1964, Part 2: 24/7/1964.
