Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: HMS "Exeter" Back. DESCRIPTION: Mr Churchill, the First Sea Lord, is amongst those at Plymouth to welcome home the gallant ‘Exeter’. the ship shows the scars of her fight with the ‘Graf Spee’. SHOTLIST: The cruiser rounds the headland and Winston Churchill, Sir John Simon, Sir Dudley Pound, and Admiral Sir Martin Dunbar-Nasmith (C-in-C Western Approaches). They go aboard and the First Lord greets Captain Bell and Commander Graham. Mr Churchill addresses the men from the deck and then follows various shots of the damage done by the Graf Spee’s guns. Capt. Bell and one of the men give an interview.
