Summary
MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: HMS "Kelly" Torpedoed. DESCRIPTION: An incident that took place earlier this year was the torpedoing of HMS Kelly. The destroyer, under the command of Lord Louis Mountbatten, was eventually towed back to port. SHOTLIST: Shot of HMS "Kelly" (a flotilla leader of the "Javelin Class") has a list. The crew are taken off and she is taken in tow by HMS "Bulldog". The "Kelly" reaches port and Lord Louis Mountbatten, her captain, chats with Admiralty officials as pumping and welding operations go forward. While she was being towed in she was raided by hostile aircraft.
