- MOVIETONE CARD TITLE: Training Parachute Troops. DESCRIPTION: Britain’s "paratroop army" is put through vigorous training beginning with physical fitness. They then learn how to land and the art of parachute packing. Britain’s parachutists, scientifically trained and equipped for this new warfare, are determined to show the world that they’re second to none. SHOTLIST: The men receive physical training, then they learn to handle their parachutes inside an hangar by swinging from a beam, they practise jumping from a ten foot platform and through a trap. After this, they learn how to get the wind out of a parachute and learn how to pack it. After signing for it - the first jump, from a barrage balloon. Then the planes - Ansons, Wellingtons, and Whitleys. Whitleys fly in formation and off go the men. Various shots of types and close ups of their special badges. Paratrooper puts on helmet. Putting on and adjusting each other’s parachutes. In ranks and inspected by officer. Climb into planes. Planes take off. Troops float down. Touch ground and take off harness. Aerial of ground.
